A method for composing a channel list and a TV using the same are provided to compose a channel list, using a channel number shown on an analog channel list when logical channel information is not present, for allowing a user to find the familiar channel number. A method for composing a channel list of a TV comprises: scanning a digital broadcasting channel to compose a channel list(S10); checking whether an analog channel list exists(S12) when logical channel information is not present(S11); comparing program titles of the digital channels with program titles on the analog channel lists when the analog channel list exists(S13); scanning the analog channel to compose the analog channel list(S14); composing the channel list, using a channel number shown on the analog channel list(S16) when the program titles of the digital channels are compared with the program titles on the analog channel list and more than 80% of the titles are conformed(S15); controlling a UI(User Interface) generating part to display a UI menu when more than 80% of the titles are not conformed(S17); composing the channel list by a user(S18); and composing the channel list based on the logical channel information when the logical channel information exists(S19). |
