<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the force to move a movable member for expanding a transport path. <P>SOLUTION: A transporting device includes a second transport path and a link plate 50 for expanding the second transporting path. The second transport path includes a pair of paper discharge rollers and a pair of switch back rollers. The pair of paper discharge rollers comprises a second opposing roller on the upper side and a vertically movable paper discharge roller 36B on the lower side. The pair of switch back rollers comprises a third opposing roller on the upper side and a vertically movable switch back roller 37B on the lower side. The link plate 50 includes: an inclined surface which changes posture of the paper discharge roller 36B by abutting against a supporting shaft 36C of the paper discharge roller 36B; and an inclined surface 53D which changes posture of the switch back roller 37B by abutting against a supporting shaft 37C of the switch back roller 37B.
