PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing steel superior in rolling-fatigue life property, at a low cost, by suppressing the production of a white structure particularly in a hydrogen environment.SOLUTION: This bearing steel has a component composition comprising more than 0.6% and 0.9% or less C, 0.15% or more and less than 1.0% Si, 0.2-1.2% Mn, 0.025% or less P, 0.02% or less S, 0.05% or less Al, 6.0% or more and less than 10.5% Cr, 0.0100% or less N, 0.0030% or less O, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities. Carbides existing in the steel have an average diameter of 0.4-0.7 μm, and an average aspect ratio of 1.0-2.0. |
