<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a translucent ytterbium oxide sintered compact, wherein the linear transmittance in visible wavelength ranging from 400 nm to 800 nm is ≥60% when the thickness is 1 mm without controlling aluminum content to 5-100 wt.ppm expressed in terms of metal and silicon content to ≤10 wt.ppm expressed in terms of metal. <P>SOLUTION: The translucent ytterbium oxide sintered compact consists mainly of ytterbium oxide and contains niobium, wherein the linear transmittance in visible wavelength ranging from 400 nm to 800 nm is ≥60% when the thickness is 1 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
