<p>The invention relates to a vertical-axis wind rotor formed by a vertical shaft (1), two horizontal end support members (3, 3') and, between said support members, multiple blades (4, 4'), characterised in that there are two types of alternately arranged blades (4, 4'), namely: blades (4) prepared and configured to form drag elements, and blades (4') prepared to form lift elements. The invention is also characterised in that the latter blades stall when they exceed a pre-set wind speed, thereby applying a braking force on the rotor. This structure eliminates a large part of the problems associated with known vertical-axis wind rotors, dispensing with the need for a significant starting torque or a system for braking in high winds. In addition, the invention does not require orientation and reorientation with respect to the prevailing wind, the use thereof is not restricted to laminar-wind conditions and the structure does not have to be positioned at a great height; instead said rotors can be installed on a low support post (2) in optimum operating conditions.</p> |
