PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric wire which is improved in draining property to effectively prevent corona discharge and corona noise. SOLUTION: In the electric wire having an outermost layer composed of a plurality of stranded element wires, the height of at least one of the plurality of element wires is set smaller than that of the other element wires to form a groove on the surface of the electric wire by the element wire with a low height and the element wires with high height at both sides thereof, and the surface of the element wire with the low height is subjected to hydrophilic treatment.
