PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to smoothly discharge defrosting water from a barrier to a machine room since an evaporator and a fan-motor assembly are installed in a barrier and a defrosting-water discharge unit is installed at the barrier. CONSTITUTION: A cabinet forms a storage. A machine room is supplied to one side of the cabinet separately from the storage and holds a compressor and a condenser. A barrier(100) divides the storage into a refrigerating compartment(40) and a freezing compartment(30) and holds an insulating material. A concave part is formed on the freezing compartment of the barrier and holds an evaporator(110) and a fan-motor assembly(130). A barrier cover shields the concave part from the freezing compartment. A defrosting-water discharge unit connects the concave part to the machine room and enables defrosting water to be discharged to the machine room in defrosting operation.
