PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing an optically active propoxynitrobenzene derivative useful for producing an antibacterial compound. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method can produce an optically active propoxynitrobenzene derivative in a short process and in high yield by enabling an intermolecular reaction of an optically active 2-sulfonyloxy-1-propanol with 1,2,3-trihalogenonitrobenzene derivative using an alkali metal carbonate salt such as potassium carbonate as a base. |
