<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutting device avoiding a damage to a cut surface of an optical fiber by eliminating contact with a cutting blade. <P>SOLUTION: The optical fiber cutting device clamps two portions of an optical fiber 1 and then presses the optical fiber 1 against a cutting blade 5 provided between both clamps 6, 7, by using an optical fiber pressing member 8 to cut the optical fiber. In the optical fiber cutting device, the cutting blade 5 is embedded and pressed into a cutting blade mounting groove 17 formed in a blade block 4 and is secured in place, and only a blade edge 5A is made to protrude from an upper surface 4a of the blade block 4. The blade block 4 is provided with a receiving portion 9 for receiving cut ends 1a, 1b of the optical fiber 1 after cutting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
