<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass fiber which can be produced by a conventional process of glass making, does not contain any one of As, S and Se, and the core glass of which shows great effect of tertiary non-linear optics. SOLUTION: This glass fiber consists of a core glass and a clad glass and the core glass comprises substantially 25 to 70 mol% of Bi2O3, 5 to 74.89 mol% of B2O3+SiO2, 0.1 to 30 mol% of Al2O3 +Ga2O3, and 0 to 10 mol% of CeO2.</p> |
