<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer power supplying method which suppresses a power consumption, and to provide a printer. <P>SOLUTION: In the printer power supply method, power supplying to a power source of a circuit which should be brought in a rest state, when the printer is in a power-saving state, is partially stopped. A power source of a circuit necessary for returning from the power-saving state to a steady state and the other power source are equipped.
