<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED that generates white color output light having color properties that are well balanced in color rendering by using phosphors, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The LED 34 has a die 12 that emits blue light disposed in a reflector cup. The cup is filled with resin including phosphors 22 and 40 so as to cover the die 12. When the die 12 is actuated to emit a primary light, the phosphor 22 receives the primary light to emit light having a broad peak in yellow region, and the phosphor 40 emits light having a peak in red region.
