PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiper blade having a favorable wiping quality in which a rattling of the wiper blade across a window shield, which is so called slip-stick effect, is prevented. SOLUTION: The wiper blade for windshields, especially automobile windshields, includes at least one support element 12, a wiper strip 14 and a connecting element 16 for a wiper arm 18. Width b and thickness d keep in a definite proportion to overall length L of the support element. In particular, the product of the width and the square of the thickness should not exceed forty times the square of the length and should not be less than twenty times the square of the length. The widths and/or the thicknesses of combined support elements are respectively added together to produce an overall width and overall thickness, which is then taken into consideration.
