摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the number of focus detection areas without causing enlargement of a light receiving sensor. SOLUTION: The focus detecting device includes image reforming optical systems 5 to 10 forming a pair of object images by using luminous flux passing through a photographic optical system 101, and the light receiving sensor 11 equipped with photoelectric conversion units 14a and 14b photoelectrically converting the pair of object images. The image reforming optical system includes an optical element 10 that moves or deforms to change an optical path of the luminous flux. The focus detecting device includes a driving means 30 that moves or deforms the optical element to a first state where the luminous flux from the first focus detection area out of a photographing range is led to the photoelectric conversion unit, and a second state where the luminous flux from the second focus detection area different from the first focus detection area is led to the photoelectric conversion unit.
