[Also in Division A4] A material consists of at least one lamina of a cellular elastically deformable material e.g. foamed polyurethane, foamed polyvinyl chloride or foamed natural or synthetic rubber and at least one lamina of fibrous material e.g. a batt needled thereto, the needled fibres penetrating through the cellular material and being securely locked thereto by the applicaton of an adhesive, e.g. a resin. In one embodiment, the fibrous lamina may be coated or impregnated with a cleaning medium e.g. a silicone wax. In another embodiment, the material may be impregnated with a weldable material. A preferred form of the material consists of a sandwich of a cellular lamina between two fibrous batts. Two ply materials may be subsequently combined at their fibrous or cellular faces. |
