PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for transmitting a sounding signal in a wireless communication system supporting multiple input multiple output are provided to solve the unbalance of antennal power by turning on an antenna which only transmits a sounding signal among selected antennas. CONSTITUTION: A terminal receives from a base station a UL(UpLink) sounding command A-MAP IE(Information Element) including cycle information, MAI(Multi-Antenna Index) and antenna switching information(S400). Through the use of the received information, the terminal selects an antenna for transmitting a sounding signal(S401). By using the selected antenna, the terminal transmits the sounding signal(S402).
