<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method, in particular, for detecting a defect in an object to be inspected non-destructively and in a non-contacting manner by using eddy current measurement or leakage flux measurement, or a similar instrument and a method for detecting conductive particles in a liquid flowing through a pipe member, at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: In cases where over-excitation of an A/D converter stage due to a reception coil signal is determined through the monitoring of a curve profile of the digitized reception coil signal by a signal processing unit, portions of the reception coil signal cut off by the A/D converter stage are reproduced in the reception coil signal by a mathematical approximation method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
