PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a classifying mechanism that prevents particles from being pressed to the surface of a casing inner wall and retained thereon by a swirl flow generated on the outer periphery of a classifier rotor, in a particle classifying mechanism in which a basket-shaped classifying rotor is installed in the casing. SOLUTION: In the particle classifying mechanism in which the basket-shaped classifier rotor 1 having a plurality of blades on the outer periphery is installed in the casing 2, a guide blade 5 is provided to the inner wall surface of the casing 2, so that the swirl flow generated on the outer periphery of the classifying rotor 1 is made to descend along the inner wall surface.
