PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust preventing device for surely performing rust prevention of a cut surface of an existing fluid pipe cut under an uninterrupted flow. SOLUTION: The rust preventing device 7 includes a casing 2 sealing the existing fluid pipe 1, a valve element 3a opening and closing the upper part of the casing 2, a work case 4 connected to the casing 2 in a sealed state through the valve element 3a, and a rust preventing means 5 arranged in the work case 4. In the casing 2, the cut surface 1a of the existing fluid pipe 1 cut under the uninterrupted flow is rust-prevented by the rust preventing means 5. An operation rod 8 has one end connected to the rust preventing means 5 in the work case 4 and the other end arranged above the outside of the work case 4, and is movable in the vertical direction of the work case 4 and the axial direction of the existing fluid pipe 1. The rust preventing means 5 has a coating keeping part 5c for keeping a rust preventive coating 10, and by operating the operation rod 8, the coating keeping part 5c of the rust preventing means 5 is made to abut on the cut surface 1a, and the entire cut surface is coated with the rust preventive coating 10.
