MAGNETIC AND ELECTROSTATIC CONFINEMENT OF PLASMA IN MAGNETIC FIELD REVERSED CONFIGURATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device which avoid anomalous transport and facilitate classical confinement of both electrons and ions in order to confine plasma which is especially important to enable nuclear fusion reaction.

SOLUTION: The plasma confinement device is provided which includes the following:a chamber, a magnetic field generator for applying a magnetic field into the chamber substantially along its main axis, a current coil for inducing a directional electric field into the chamber, and a plasma source for injecting plasma containing electrons and ions into the chamber.
