PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element capable of emitting a white light even when a low current is applied, as well as a light emitting device, a display device, and an electronic equipment, having high reliability and provided with the light emitting element. SOLUTION: The light emitting element 1 includes a cathode 12, anode 3, a red light emitting layer 6 provided between the cathode 12 and the anode 3 and emitting a red light, a blue light emitting layer 8 provided between the red light emitting layer 6 and the cathode 12 and emitting a blue light, a green light emitting layer 9 provided between the blue light emitting layer 8 and the cathode 12 and emitting a green light, and an intermediate layer 7 arranged between the red light emitting layer 6 and the blue light emitting layer 8 in contact with them and having a function of adjusting a movement of a hole and an electrode between the red light emitting layer 6 and the blue light emitting layer 8, wherein the intermediate layer 7 is configured to include a first material and a second material which is different from the first material, the red light emitting layer 6 is configured to include a material of the same type as the first material, and the blue light 8 and the green light emitting layer 9 are respectively configured to include a material of the same type as the second material.
