The method involves fixing an electrical and/or electronic element (130) e.g. ignition transformer, on a base plate (153) made of plastic, of a component carrier (150). A casting sleeve provided with a filling opening is attached to the plate, which laterally encloses the electrical and/or electronic element. The sleeve is sealed at the plate by supplying a casting compound and achieving heat treatment to form a casting chamber containing the element. The electrical and/or electronic element is casted by filling the chamber with another casting compound by the opening. An independent claim is also included for a component set of a component carrier for accommodating electronic components.
