<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automated motor-driven wheelchair, safety achieving elevation of steps. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A pair of right and left freely rotating front wheels 2b, a driving auxiliary front wheel 1b fitted to a shaft 25 and driven by a motor 9, a freely rotating auxiliary rear wheel 3b and a driving rear wheel 4b separately driven by a rear wheel driving motor 21b are mounted to front and rear chassis 29, 30. Shafts 26, 25, 27 and shaft rotating motors 9, 10a, 10b are placed on the front chassis 29. A shaft 23, a shaft rotating motor 12 and a rear wheel driving motor 21b are placed on the rear chassis 30. The front and rear chassis and a chair fixing bed 16 which is varied in height and varied in angle forward and backward are placed on a vehicle body frame 28. A step detecting sensor 11 is assembled in a foot table 18. A sensor for detecting inclination of the vehicle body frame is mounted in the interior of the chair fixing bed 16.
