<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a transplanting device fitting for the kind of a seedling to be attached to a self-propelled apparatus. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the transplanter, the transplanting device enabling the transplanting operation of the seedlings is provided at the self-propelled apparatus self-propelled while spanning a ridge. The self-propelled apparatus is obtained by horizontally arranging a machine frame between pairs of right and left front wheels and rear wheels, and arranging a seat, a transmission portion and an engine portion on the machine frame above the rear wheels. The transplanting device is arranged in front of the seat through a lifting and lowering mechanism so as to be freely lifted and lowered. The machine frame is formed by connecting tripartite frame-forming bodies of right and left side front frame-forming bodies mainly supported by the front wheels, and a rear frame-forming body mainly supported by the rear wheels. The right and left side front frame-forming bodies are formed into replaceable frame-forming bodies replaceable according the kinds of the transplanting seedlings, and the rear frame-forming body is formed into a common frame-forming body commonly usable regardless of the kinds of the transplanting seedlings.
