PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idler support structure for a crawler type vehicle capable of suppressing enlargement/deformation when it receives lateral load and being easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The idler support structure is provided with bearing parts 35a, 35a2 provided on a hydraulic shovel and supporting a support shaft 34 of the idler; a pair of idler brackets 33A1, 33A2 having a guide part for guiding these bearing parts 35a, 35a2 respectively; and a load transmission part for transmitting the lateral load given to the bearing parts 35a, 35a2 to the idler bracket. The load transmission part is only provided on one idler bracket 33A2 side and it is constituted such that an arrangement relationship of these idler brackets 33A1 and the bearing part 35a is set such that movement in a direction perpendicular to an extension direction of a side frame 10 of the bearing part 35a guided to a guide part of the other idler bracket 33A1 is suppressed by the idler bracket 33A1.
