PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network system and a gateway device that prevent occurrence of deterioration in response or packet loss even if transmission data are increased.

SOLUTION: The gateway device 3 obtains an information amount of a content flowing in a network 4 so as to increase/reduce a band set in the network 4 according to the information amount of the content. In that case, the gateway device 3 newly opens a tunnel in a required band according to the information amount of the content with respect to the network 4. Transmission (an inner session) of the content is all executed via the new tunnel. A prior old tunnel is closed so as to increase/reduce the band.
