<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a viewing angle adjusting device and a viewing angle adjusting method for an on-vehicle display" for adjusting a display to obtain a viewing angle optimum for an occupant without performing a complicated angle adjusting operation of the display by the occupant. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The viewing angle adjusting device includes a weight detection portion 11 for detecting a weight applied to a weight sensor 20 when the occupant sits on a rear seat, a viewpoint height translation table storage portion 12 for storing viewpoint height translation table information obtained by associating weight information and occupant's viewpoint height information, a viewpoint height acquisition portion 13 for acquiring, from the viewpoint height translation table information, an occupant's viewpoint height corresponding to the weight detected by the weight detection portion 11, and a viewing angle adjusting portion 14 for adjusting the angle of the on-vehicle display 30 to obtain an optimum viewing angle with respect to a virtual viewpoint at the obtained viewpoint height. The angle of the on-vehicle display 30 is automatically adjusted such that the viewing angle is suitable for the viewpoint height uniquely estimated from an occupant's body weight.
