The device (1) has a pressure blasting vessel (2) attached to a pressurizing medium distributor (4) by a pipeline, and a blasting medium releasing device attached to the distributor by another pipeline (6). The former pipeline has a locking valve between the distributor and the vessel. The vessel has an outlet for releasing a blasting medium, where the outlet is connected to the latter pipeline under interconnection of a metering cylinder. The cylinder and the valve are designed in a pneumatically-operated manner and pneumatically coupled with one another. An independent claim is also included for a pressure blasting method for loading a surface of a workpiece with a blasting medium.
