PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a method for falling a printed paper sheet, while maintaining the paper sheet in the state of being curved into a U-shape, wherein the sheet is caught between lateral width guides on the way of falling to cause a loading failure in the case of using a stiff paper sheet. SOLUTION: In the paper receiving device 3 for receiving printed paper sheets P falling in the state of being curved into a U-shape and for forming a stack A of the paper sheets P in the vertical direction, lateral jogger operation control and hang-up prevention control are executed. In order to align right and left positions of the stack A, the lateral jogger operation control reciprocates first lateral width guides 150 and 160 within ranges of first lateral variation width VS1 and VS1 including lateral standard positions P50 and P60 at a first frequency f1 in a predetermined time period in response to occurrence of a falling paper sheet P. In order to prevent the paper sheet P from being hanged-up by second lateral width guides 250 and 260, the hang-up prevention control always vibrates the second lateral width guides 250 and 260 within ranges of second lateral variation widths VS2 and Vs2 including the lateral standard positions P50 and P60 at a second frequency f2.
