PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain pipe structure capable of suppressing a flow rate and flow volume of drainage water by stagnating drainage water in the middle of a horizontal drain pipe of a drain pipe line and preventing sealing rupture of a drain trap caused by occurrence of negative pressure in the drain pipe line, and to provide a pipe joint used for the same. SOLUTION: In the drain pipe line structure, a contracted pipe part 51c having an opening space smaller than an opening space of a horizontal drain pipe 5 is provided on the midway of the horizontal drain pipe 5 of the drain pipe line for discharging drainage water from a drain facility 1 (flush toilet bowl). A part of the drainage water flowed just before the contracted pipe part 51c of the horizontal drain pipe 5 from the drain facility 1 is stagnated on an upstream side portion 5a of the horizontal drain pipe 5 by the contracted pipe part 51c to suppress the flow rate and flow volume of the drainage water flowed toward a downstream side portion of the contracted pipe part and prevent the occurrence of negative pressure due to blockage of the drain pipe line on the downstream side, so that the sealing rupture of a drain trap 1b of the drain facility 1 is prevented.
