PURPOSE: A refrigerating/freezing system is provided to make the gas refrigerant of high temperature and pressure stay in an evaporator and to remove frost from the evaporator within a short time. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerating/freezing system comprises a compressor(10), a condenser(20), an expansion valve(30), and an evaporator(40). The compressor, the condenser, the expansion valve, and the evaporator is connected through a compression line(11), a condensation line(21), a expansion line(31), and an evaporation line(41) to constitute one cooling cycle and the compression line and the expansion line are connected to a defrost line(43) which comprises a defrost valve(44). A first motor-operated valve(45) for selectively opening and closing a fluid path is installed on the evaporation line and an orifice line(46) is installed in parallel so that a little amount of gas refrigerant detours when the first motor-operated valve is shielded. A heat exchanger is installed on the evaporation line between the compressor and the first motor-operated valve. The heat exchanger includes a heating member for completely vaporizing the gas refrigerant of low temperature and pressure passing through the evaporator. The heating member of the heat exchanger is installed on the compression line through which the gas refrigerant of high pressure and temperature compressed by the compressor flows.
