<p>Disclosed is a sugar production apparatus, comprising a conditioning chamber having a conditioning zone; wherein the conditioning chamber is configured to enable sugar process liquid to flowthrough its conditioning zone to produce a conditioned sugar process liquid; and wherein, the conditioning chamber is selected from: (a) an aeration chamber in which the conditioning zone is a containment zone, the aeration chamber configured to enable the sugar process liquid to flow through the containment zone within the aeration chamber coincident to a flow of gas through the containment zone to produce the conditioned sugar process liquid; or (b) a vacuum chamber in which the conditioning zone is an evacuation zone having a reduced pressure, the vacuum chamber configured to enable the sugar process liquid to flow through the evacuation zone within the vacuum chamber to produce the conditioned sugar process liquid.
