PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescence element low in driving voltage and high in emission efficiency. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element includes a substrate; and a pair of electrode, at least two luminous layers disposed between the pair of electrodes, and an intermediate layer containing a charge transport material disposed between at least the two luminous layers, which are provided on the substrate. Each of at least the two luminous layers contains at least one phosphorescent material selected from blue phosphorescent material, green phosphorescent material, and red phosphorescent material. The phosphorescent materials contained in at least the two luminous layers have different emission peaks, and the charge transport material contained in the intermediate layer has an energy difference (T1) between base state and excited triplet state of 2.7 eV or more, which is higher by 0.15 eV or more than T1 of the phosphorescent material with the shortest wavelength emission of the phosphorescent materials contained in at least the two luminous layers.
