<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet wire having excellent adhesive strength to varnish for impregnation processing without losing lubricity on a surface, and to provide a coil using the magnet wire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The outermost layer of an insulating cover for covering a conductor includes a cured product of varnish. The cured product includes: 100 pts.mass of a coating film-constituting resin; 1-5 pts.mass of organic lubricant having a melting point of 50-150°C; and 1-30 pts.mass of a silane coupling agent expressed by a general formula 1. In the general formula 1, R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>are alkyl groups, each having 1-3 carbons independently, O is an oxygen atom, X is a coupling group or an alkyl group or a phenylene group having 1-3 carbons, Y is an ethylene-like unsaturated bond containing group having 2-5 carbons, and n is 0, 1, or 2.
