PURPOSE: A composition containing mixture herb extract for preventing and treating hepatitis is provided to suppress alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST). CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating hepatitis contains mixture herb extract of Scutellariae Radix, Ponciri Fructus, Rhei Rhizoma, Paeoniae Radix, and Bupleuri Radix as an active ingredient. A health food also contains the mixture herb extract as an active ingredient. The health food is used in the form of powder, granule, tablet, capsule, or beverage.
