PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-invasive constituent concentration measuring device and a method of controlling constituent concentration measuring device.

SOLUTION: A blood constituent concentration measuring device is equipped with: a light generating section 11 as a light generating means generating light; an optical modulation section 12 as an optical modulation means for electrically intensity-modulating the light generated at the light generating section 11 at a constant frequency; an optical emitting section 13 as an optical emitting means emitting the intensity modulation light 1 intensity-modulated at the optical modulation section 12 to a biological specimen area 97 as a specimen; and an ultrasonic detecting section 14 as a sound wave detecting means detecting the sound wave or the optoacoustic signal 3 emitted from the biological specimen area 97 where intensity-modulated light 1 is irradiated; wherein an acoustic matching material of acoustic impedance nearly equal to the biological specimen area 97 and the biological specimen area 97 can be arranged in an interior portion 22 between the optical emitting section 13 and the ultrasonic detecting section 14.
