<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vacuum cleaner wherein the power source cord is made easier to be taken up to a cord reel while suppressing the enlarging of the body case. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The rotating shaft 73 of a cord reel 32 is tilted to the vertical direction in such a manner that the cord lead-out port 51 side of the cord reel 32 may tilt downward under a state wherein a power source cord 31 is taken up. The enlarging of the body case 25 is suppressed by suppressing the arrangement space for the cord reel 32. The power source cord 31 is made easier to be taken up into the cord reel 32 through the cord lead-out port 51 from the cord lead-out port 51 side which is tilted to the lower side of the cord reel 32.
