PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that a calculation amount is significantly increased, and abnormality arises, even in case of multi-channel audio. SOLUTION: An audio playback device 100 for decoding and playing back a stream including a basic codec, comprises: a stream separation section 101 for separating the stream into a basic codec and a band spreading data; a basic codec analysis section 102 for analyzing the separated basic codec; a basic codec decoding section 103 for decoding the basic codec according to the basic codec analysis information; a band spreading data analysis section 104 for analyzing the band spreading data; a first band spreading processing section 106 for spreading the basic codec decoding signal by using the band spreading information; a second band spreading processing section 107 for spreading the basic codec decoding signal with higher accuracy than the first band spreading processing section 106 by using the band spreading information; and a switching section 109 for switching the first band spreading processing section 106 and the second band spreading processing section 107 based on the basic codec analysis information.
