<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester having a simple chaff treatment device of a hopper type, having no fear of deformation of an auxiliary carrier even when big load is applied on the auxiliary carrier. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A simple chaff treatment device is equipped with a carrier 35 to be mounted with a chaff bag positioned near a grain storing hopper for temporarily storing threshed grain, set with a sub-carrier 37 at a position adjacent to the carrier 35, arranged with tubes 38 to stand at the both ends of the sub-carrier 37, and equipped with a sliding mechanism vertically sliding the tubes 38 in frames 39 stood at the ends of the carrier 35 and adjacent to the sub-carrier 37, wherein, as the sub-tubes 38 are slidable in the frames 39, so by descending the sub-carrier 37 to a lower position than the main carrier 35, chaff bags can be loaded on the sub-carrier 37 by one more layer and continuous work on the wet paddy field, the large area farm and the like is enabled.
