<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell suppressing stripping of a MEA, and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell includes the electrode-electrolyte membrane assembly at least including a solid polymer electrolyte membrane, a cathode 31 disposed in contact with one side of the solid polymer electrolyte membrane, and an anode 32 disposed in contact with the other side, catalyst layers 461, 462 formed on the electrodes of the cathode 31 and the anode 32, and a ground layer 45 comprising a mixed layer of a hydrophobic and insulating polymer and a conductive material. At least one electrode of the cathode 31 and the anode 32 is a porous metal material, and the ground layer 45 is formed between at least one electrode and the catalyst layer by performing any of application and heat treatment at a temperature higher than the glass transition point of a solid polymer electrolyte component contained in the catalyst layers 461, 462. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
