摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize combustion when a fuel injection is resumed in a spark ignited internal combustion engine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Fuel injection is stopped when desired torque for the engine is predetermined torque or less and a speed of the engine is a predetermined speed or greater. When the speed of the engine is decreased and exceeds the predetermined speed, the fuel injection is resumed by injecting a first amount (FP1) of fuel directly into a combustion chamber during a negative pressure period which is a part of a negative overlap period and the period when a pressure in the combustion chamber is lower than the pressure when an exhaust valve is closed and injecting a second amount (FP2) of the fuel which includes oxygen in an amount smaller than the first amount directly into the combustion chamber during an intake period. The fuel injection is resumed by injecting a third amount (FP3) of the fuel directly into the combustion chamber during the negative pressure period and injecting a fourth amount (FP4) of the fuel into the combustion chamber during the intake period when the desired torque of the engine is increased and exceeds the predetermined torque.
