PURPOSE: A display device and a control method thereof are provided to adjust an input signal detecting time of an external input source, thereby recognizing a source for an input source in which an input signal is detected late. CONSTITUTION: A display device comprises a control unit of a signal detecting unit. The signal detecting unit sequentially checks input sources during preset basic time(S510). The signal detecting unit detects a signal inputted from a plurality of input sources(S520). If the input signal is not detected within basic time, a controller adjusts the basic time(S540). The controller controls the signal detecting unit to check the input sources again.
