PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening device by which a thick paper such as a kraft paper is cut-opened well. SOLUTION: The opening device 10 includes: a long base 1; a blade 3 suitable for one end of the base 1; and a grip 6 fixed to the other end of the base 1. By putting the one end of the base 1 between the divided paper 131 and the kraft paper 133 of an original paper 13, the base 1 keeps the blade 3 in an attitude perpendicular to the surface of the divided paper 131, and the blade 3 lifts and cut-opens the craft paper 133.
