PURPOSE: An escalator which possessively controls an exit by using infrared sensors is provided to control an exit by adding a motor controller on the escalator. CONSTITUTION: An escalator which possessively controls an exit by using infrared sensors comprises an infrared sensor(5) and a motor controller(10). The infrared sensor confirms users going out to an exit. The infrared sensor is composed of a lighting-emitting area and a photo diode. If the photo diode is unable to sense the infrared ray emitted from the lighting-emitting area, the infrared sensor transmits a signal, which shows that user passes by, to the motor controller. The motor controller opens the exit.
