A lightweight leg assembly for an aircraft seat assembly includes a leg frame 10 comprising at least one leg attachment bracket 2 and a main frame member 11 carried by the at least one leg attachment bracket 2 and comprising a thermoplastic material. At least one track fitting 22 may be carried by the leg frame. The leg assembly may further comprise a frame brace 20 extending from the leg attachment bracket 2. A frame stabilizer 25 is preferably provided extending from the leg attachment bracket, said stabilizer comprising a pair of stabilizer arms 26 between which a shock absorber 70 is provided. A method of fabricating a leg assembly for an aircraft seat assembly using thermoplastic plies is also disclosed. |
