<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic recording system that detects and controls errors, by image processing evaluation of an evaluation image such that display and photographing can be synchronized, to prevent inputted photographic signal and video signal from being delayed by an internal circuit and causing errors in photograph start timing, when a display device is photographed by a photographic device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a photographing evaluation of the display device, the photographic recording system is made up of a video output device 10, a display device 12, a controller 11, an image evaluation device 14, and a photographic device 13. In the control of photographing start timing, a predetermined evaluation image is displayed on the display device 12, and a display image 23 is photographed by the photograph device 13 in response to a photographing signal 22 to obtain a photographed image 24. By means of the image processing evaluation of a photographing evaluation image 26 by the image evaluation device 14, it is possible to generate photograph start timing for synchronizing the photograph start timing of the photograph device 13 and the frame start timing of the display image 24 displayed on the display device 12.
