摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder injection type spark ignition internal combustion engine capable of controlling the backflow of cylinder gas into a nozzle port accompanied by the generation of cavitation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This cylinder injection type spark ignition internal engine 1 is equipped with a fuel injection valve 18 including a sack part and the nozzle port and injecting fuel into a combustion chamber, and when fuel passed through the sack part flows into the nozzle port, cavitation is generated. The spark ignition internal engine further includes a cylinder gas backflow control means for controlling the flow of cylinder gas flowing back into the nozzle port during the generation of cavitation. The cylinder gas backflow control means is a sub fuel injection valve 25 disposed near the fuel injection valve. During the fuel injection of fuel from the fuel injection valve, a sub injection fuel 32 is injected from the sub fuel injection valve toward the periphery of a nozzle port outlet, and the flow of cylinder gas that may flow back into the nozzle port is blocked.
