<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method for a magnetic biosensor for effectively stirr a liquid composition even if a reaction container is small and for outputting an inspection result of high reliability and high sensitivity in a short time. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The detection method for detecting a magnetic marker using a detection element constituted of a detection part and a non-detection part includes the process (1) of bringing the detection element into contact with the liquid composition containing the magnetic marker and gel particles, the process (2) of subjecting the gel particles to volume phase transfer and the process (3) of detecting the magnetic marker present in the vicinity of the detection part.
