<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily select a successful photograph from photographic images obtained by photographing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Photographic image data obtained by photographing with the use of a digital camera is stored in an external storage device. A CPU forms a GUI in response to an image processing program, and displays by list the photographic image data to be processed, which are stored in the external storage device, onto a display device. Furthermore, the CPU performs face detection with respect to each kind of photographic image data to be processed, which are stored in the external storage device, counts the number of successfully photographed facial images, included in the photographic image data, and performs evaluation in response to predetermined evaluation reference, based on the counting result of the facial images. When the evaluation with respect to the whole kinds of photographic image data to be processed is performed, the photographic images are re-arranged in descending order concerning the number of successfully photographed facial images, based on the evaluation result, and displayed on the display device.
