<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing a negative type lithographic printing plate which has both printing durability and developability, and in which the printing plate is not stained with development waste produced when development processing is carried out for a long period, especially, using an automatic developing machine. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is the method of processing the negative type lithographic printing plate in which the negative lithographic printing plate having a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer on a base is developed using a developing solution containing a compound represented by general formula (1) of R1 O-(AO)m-H and formula (2) of HO-(BO)n-H. In formula (1), AO is one of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide, and butylene oxide, and (m) is an integer between 0 and 4. Further, R1 is a monocylic or bicyclic aryl group, a heterocyclic group, or an alkyl group with C1-10.
